April 12, 2009 I celebrated five years clean and sober, meaning I haven’t had anything alcoholic to drink or any drug in five whole years. It’s kind of mindblowing and all I can say is I have so much gratitude that I was able to do this because that definitely was NOT in my cards

i used to go on stage and wear bikini tops with fake fur and ski pants and play guitar like a mofo. i miss those days. this was like ten years ago.
if you don’t know my last album my machine from 2005 it’s a record version of the matrix or something. it’s about the disintegration of the ego, disguised as a fun party dance record. it got a lot of critical acclaim (here is one my most favorite reviews) but think it went over most people’s heads.
