my friend 8th1 drew all over his nikes and scribbled over the “swish”
and it reminded me that i had been working on a song called NO LOGO.
many of you read Naomi Klein and she put out a brilliant book in 2000 by the same title.
(there’s even a quote by yours truly in there!!)
I’ve been studying up on the sweat shop issue and you know what, Nike, Adidas, Walmart and so many others still using them.
What sucks is that I get so many free clothes from these people. Guess I will give them to the poor.
I would be lying if I said that’s easy for me to do. I do love clothes!! But I love the right thing to do better.
Here is a great organization called the Maquila Solidarity Network which monitors what brands are doing what and workers’ rights (most of whom are women!)
I SAY LET’S START A REVOLUTION AND STOP BUYING INTO BRANDING!!!!
Um but the question is- Princess Superstar is also a brand. So how exactly does that work??
