here i am in tokyo, played le baron club last night and club asia tonight night. saturday in osaka at le onzieme. the reason why i love tokyo so much is:
-the air is electric
-there are cute frogs/bunnies/creatures and animations everywhere (in fact this stone monkey you see is from FUNERAL HOME, yes, a funeral home- this is one of the selections for your gravestone. yes please, i will have monkey gravestone on my grave!
-the toilet seats are often heated and the toilets in general can do fantastic things. my toilet in my hotel room is so cozy and warm i sometimes would like to take a nap on it
-seaweed wrapped around sticky rice balls. really could eat like 10 of these in a row. except they are labeled in japanese and once i bit into a pork one instead of a plum one and it made me ill. be careful vegans!
-the fans really love you and go wild
-there are ubiquitous vending machines with cans of coffee and delicious green tea
-everyone bows to each other and it seems so respectful and honoring
-japanese gardens
-the seaweed is so cheap, and so yummy; also the tofu is super creamy and doesn’t taste like any tofu we have.
my new friend yuki watanabe (who used to run the legendary nyc club Mars!) set me up with so many friends here too and i am just having a blast. my time clock is a little screwy (night is day, day is night for me) but it’s cool because it kinda makes you feel like you’re on drugs but without actually being on drugs. i’m going to osaka tomorrow which i am excited about but i think i am missing cherry blossom season by a week. oh well, you know i got my own sweet cherry blossom…ah shheeet. ok i am gonna stop bloggin now.
